Megaliving – Day 18 and 19 + My Habits.

January 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday I did not follow much of Megaliving. The exercises for the body seemed like “its not for me” and the one for Character seemed to much of theory to implement.

Today however is great. And I have practiced the Mind exercise. I’ll do the body ones soon. And the character building one too. Ok, I just completed my exercises. Todays Megaliving To-do also states that I write in my journal, 5 benefits I have seen with exercise. So here they come :-

  • More energy
  • Some muscles :)
  • My pimples have gone. I am not sure if its because of my diet or exercise or both. But yes they have dissappeared!!!
  •  I feel hungry these days and eat much better.
  • A combination of Yoga and exercise has definitely started showing its effect on the weaker portions of my body. I feel that my neck and the joints in my right leg are getting stronger.

I did not follow Simpleology yesterday as well. Ill do it today though.

I am also gonna start my handwriting analysis blog tomorrow. I have been procrastinating a lot about it off late.

I am reaching the magical Day 21. So I should have formed a few habits by now. :D :D

But when I come to look at it, I wonder if there is even

1 habit that I have practiced consistently for the past 20 days!

Ok “Practicing Yoga on weekdays” is 1. Daily walking is another. Deep breathing is another. (Not bad)

And thats it.

I have been exercising regularly but break it once in while. But I have started feeling results. I better start devoting more time to Megaliving now. Its the best investment of time.

5 habits I really want to have are:-

  1. Not keeping a single negative thought in the mind. To challenge and replace ever negative thought.
  2. Waking up early morning every single day. (Today again I slept at 5 AM and woke up at 12 noon) :(
  3. Just go ahead and do it without an in authentic fear of failing.
  4. Eating food 3 times a day.
  5. Reading significantly everyday.

I better get down to today’s Simpleology practice, then exercise, then today’s Yoga, then meditation and then start completing the draft of my 5 year plan. Ok, back in action now.

Fear the No 1 Enemy.

January 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I often catch myself not doing something for the fear of being able to do it well enough. Whenever I don’t know exactly how I’ll do it. I don’t take it up. And this is something that holds me back a lot.

As a budding entrepreneur, I gotta start working these self restricting areas as well.

Instead of analyzing how would I overcome “Step 8″, I gotta just start diving into “Step 1″. Chances are I’ll learn whatever is required in “Step 8″ in the process. This is another habit I choose to work on. Stop thinking, just do it.

Eventually I feel, entrepreneurship and all these habits will give me a BIIIIIIIIIIIIG freedom.

The freedom from the fear of fear itself. Ill do anything to achieve that state of mind.

Day 17 of Megaliving

January 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Today’s Megaliving exercise were superb. I thoroughly enjoyed them.

Mind:

It gave a list of 10 things to do. I did some and didn’t do some others. Among the ones I did:-

  • I took on completing everything I start today. (Tried but did not succeed)
  • I went to an Aerospace Museum. I had been wanting to visit the museum for the past 2 years but had never done so.
  • I found a lake nearby in Google Earth. And went out to discover it, and see if I find a good reading spot near it. Well I found the lake but not the reading spot! It was a marshland. But very beautiful. Man what a fragrance it was.

Body:

It again gave a choice among 6-8 habits and asked us to incorporate 2. I realized I already follow 3 of the 8 regularly.

Character:

Journal Writing. I guess I do this fairly regularly these days!

So great going so far. I had started this year with the resolution of completing Megaliving  properly. I guess I am on track with respect to that! :)

How do I make my $1000 this month???

January 24, 2008 · 2 Comments

Initially my idea was to earn the amount with Google AdSense. But alas, that idea was way too far fledged. By 5th of Jan I realized the practicality of plan A. I have half completed a fun and sexy website, but getting enough traffic on it in a month to make that amount is unlikely.

Then I started chilling out and didn’t worry too much about making the money.

Then I started plan B. Its a sexy biz idea with very little initial investment required. I found a niche market and made a service to target it. But alas, though I got good feedback on the service, it was required that I continue the service for a prolongated period of time. Since I am going on a 2 month vacation in the mid of Feb, I could not pursue plan B as well. But the basics have been handled.

Ok so plan B also temporarily halted.

Then I again chilled for a couple of days. And came up with plan C. I am good at teaching, and I found another niche market filled with clients to train. Today I went to propose that business prospect to a relevant client. He was interested but said that the earliest he can organize such a session is in March. That again leaves me with no way to make my $1000 this month.

So I came back today and didn’t do anything. No meditation today, No Yoga either (2nd day in a row), didn’t eat a good lunch, had buns and biscuits for dinner and didn’t read during the night, started solving a quiz instead.

And now I am back on track, I have come up with a Plan D. This one does not look promising, but will surely teach me a lot! I gotta read and learn a lot to make it happen. And of-course I am not writing about it right now in this blog.

Right now I am wondering, why do I write down all these things in my blog. Someday in the future, I’ll come back to these pages and smile at the process of my evolution. :)

16 Days of Megaliving Complete!!!

January 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Todays exercises in Megaliving were rather fun.

Mind: Go on an imaginary vacation! It was real fun. I did feel relaxed after coming out of my forest to my room. We even found a cave with a mini lake inside and camped there. Not to mention my tree house in the forest and my friendship with the Langoors there. I used to think that my imaginary skills are not that good. But this exercise proved otherwise. None the less, its fun and easy! I would love to make such a discovery (talking about the cave here) in real life.

Body: Banishing the belly. Well I did 20+ sit-ups

Soul: Writing a love letter! This one was amazing. I wrote a love letter to my ex. Of course we were not asked to dispatch it. But writing it, I realized there were just so many good things in our relationship that I ignored earlier. It felt great to look at the things that worked rather than the things that did not. Good exercise.

Thats all for Day 16.

I have started waking up early, but the routine is still in a mess. Lets make it better tomorrow.

Simpleology – Day 7

January 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Aha, Day 7 was an extension of day 6.

Todays chapter was on “Keep the target in your sights”. Now this simply means that when you have 1 target, you gotta continue putting sufficient attention and energy on it until you hit it.

The problem with most of us is that we don’t keep steady on 1 target. We keep rotating from 1 target to another. But then just how do we stick to only 1 target. Mark says, on eof the subsequent chapters of Simpleology will make keeping your focus on 1 target as simple as watching a movie. Really???

I am excited to reach that chapter.

There’s nothing wrong with anything, only an Impact.

January 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I have caught me making myself wrong hundreds of times. I feel really good these days, and I simply don’t feel like doing the same anymore. For instance today, I didn’t sleep in the night because I wanted to wake up at 5.30 AM. Then I dozed off while meditating :) ! However I had done my exercise and had pushed myself a little (Kaizen) which might have contributed to my need for some rest. I woke up at 12 noon. But no, I am not making myself wrong over it.

But I would like to take a moment to analyze the impacts my waking up late has caused.

  1. I did not eat my breakfast on time and its gonna delay my lunch and dinner as well.
  2. I did not do my yoga in the morning. Neither did I plan the rest of my day.
  3. I got late for a number of things including a morning informal appointment.
  4. I again didn’t read anything in the morning.
  5. I will have to work till midnight to finish my 8 hours of daily work.
  6. And my routine is ruptured for another day.

Aah, the impact is huge. I’ll keep it in mind next time I feel like sleeping.

Lets get down to work now.

At times I wonder, will I ever come back and read all this that I have written. If not then why am I writing this? None the less, I enjoy blogging :D

Some wisdom from Robin Sharma

January 21, 2008 · 2 Comments

Robin Sharma is a leadership guru and the author of “The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari”. While I could not complete TMWSHF, I sure have picked up Megaliving pretty well.

I came across the following 2 podcasts from Robin Sharma on YouTube,

Robin Sharma – 5 forms of wealth

Robin says, that Financial Wealth is only 1 metric of measuring wealthiness. However to be really wealthy, there are 4 other metrics. A deficiency in any one of these has a major impact on your well being. And I agree.

After listening to the podcast I found significant gaps in my life (in which I honestly don’t feel wealthy enough). So lemme share the 5 forms of wealth and the gaps that I see I gotta cover in each of them.

  1. Financial Wealth: Well I am broke right now, but I don’t feel powerless in this area. I am confident that I am above money.
  2. Relationships: Hmmm, I have amazing friends, but have a long way to go towards enriching my relationships with a few family members. A significant gap. But still, I feel I am moderately wealthy in this segment.
  3. Health: Nops, I don’t have a good health. Even though my body is doing pretty fine, I can see that I can’t run 2 km at a stretch. I want to be fit enough to run a marathon someday (with training of course). Until recently there was no exercise in my life. And I didn’t even care to eat my food 3 times daily. I am 10 kgs under weight and my Yoga training has got me present to a few areas of my body that are weak. But the good thing is that I am already taking solid and consistent action towards this domain. :D
  4. Adventure: Though I call myself an adventure freak, I am really not doing much to have fun in a regular basis. Robin’s concept of Micro Adventures is cool. I can take on trying out something new everyday. And I can decide that while brushing my teeth!
  5. Contribution: I think I keep contributing in my own small ways. I feel reasonably good in this area.

Robin Sharma – 8 Things successful people do

  1. Focus: I suck at it. But I am steadily improving.
  2. Positivity and Passion: Yes, this is there 80% of the time.
  3. Hard Work: Yes, I am capable of doing it when I am motivated. Since the time I have quit my job, my motivation levels have soared. So has the potential for hard work.
  4. Never Stop Innovating: Wow, I really do this. All the time. I am so full of ideas. In fact I have started keeping an Idea book as well :D . I never accept the ordinary.
  5. Time Management: I suck at it again. I will read something on Time Management tomorrow.
  6. Add Outrageous Value: I doubt if I have it.
  7. Strong Relationships: Yes. I really take time out to build strong relationships.
  8. Devoted to Excellence: I guess I am, :P . Ok, yes I actually am.

Not bad, I rate his opinion on success highly. And as per my self analysis, I am pretty much on track. Gotta work on Focus (already doing so) and Time Management. And of course to add outrageous value. Now I am sure I’ll be doing so with my clients in my business. I didn’t do it at my job.

This is a good piece of self analysis done for the day!

Megaliving – Day 15

January 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I am very happy today. For no good reason. I didn’t do anything towards my targets today but still.

I noticed that I keep my backbone straight and that my standing posture (that people often complain about) is improving as well. This is definitely out of my Yoga practice which in turn is a gift from Megaliving.

Today’s or rather yesterday’s mind building exercises included auto-suggestions which I obediently followed (though with some initial resistance). The body thing included using a moisturizer, doing weight training + aerobics and walking everyday. I chose to follow the 1st and the third. I don’t want to take on aerobics just yet and I am happy with my sit-ups, crunches and pull-ups for exercise. Wow, I am exercising regularly these days as well.

But there are 2 or rather 3 important habits that I am really not building.

  1. Waking up early everyday
  2. Eating my food as per the elimination theory suggests
  3. Chewing my food well
  4. Meditating at a fixed place, fixed time everyday
  5. Doing some good reading everyday

So I take on following these habits from today. I declare waking up every morning at 5.30 sharp.

Ill then follow the following routine:-

  • Wake up at 5.30 and review my goals
  • Read the day’s Megaliving goals [5.35]
  • Brush my teeth and answer the important questions like “How do I make today a living masterpiece?” and “What do I do today to have fun?” [5.50]
  • Meditate for 20 mins [6.15]
  • Do my daily exercise [6.30]
  • Clean my house, Soak clothes for washing [6.45]
  • Do my Yoga [7.45]
  • Put water for boiling and Read something inspirational [8.15]
  • Have a shower and wash clothes [8.45]
  • Write a blog entry that I have done the above, and what I have learned using them [9.15]
  • Plan for the day [9.30]
  • Make breakfast and eat (chewing my food properly) [10.00]
  • Practice Simpleology daily lessons [10.30]
  • Work the plan the rest of the day.

Aha, I have given a healthy amount of buffers this time around. This plan looks more achievable!

Todays spiritual exercise was to be the most enthusiastic person I am every day from now on. Enthusiasm is one of my strongest personality traits, and I am  glad that I got an easy one. I will buy a wrist band tomorrow and wear it. Every time I look at that wristband, it will remind me to be enthusiastic and chirpy.

A good day spent. And now good night. :)
