Hi,
Thanks for viewing my weblog.
I am a Techie who quit his software job to discover himself.
Right now (as I start this blog) I have taken on living a life that I love. A life in which I wake up every morning with a smile and a mission, charged up to make a difference. A life which is full of fun and in which every day is an adventure. A life in which I successfully turn each of my dreams into reality. A life in which there is abundance of love, time and money.
My first step towards this life is – “making money only out of doing things that I truly love”. I add money there because I need it. But in essence, I wanna do something that I would continue doing for free even if there is no money in it. I am having a lot of fun and I am having a lot of breakdowns. I have decided to follow this strategy till July 2008. By then I would have discovered a few things that I love. And I am sure that I will do well. I have restarted painting, handwriting analysis, coding algorithms, teaching and my other hobbies. I have started blogging and serving others in different ways.
And in this blog I intend to document the highs and lows of my journey.
I have always felt that I am meant to do great things. If sitting on the computer and typing out platitudes would make you great, then I guess I am on the right track. But unfortunately thats not the case.
Pun aside, This blog is about action. Given that I have a Ph.D in “Analytical Thinking” anyways, I would like to jot some actions here for a change.
I have confronted a lot of harsh realities from the time I started writing this blog. And I have really grown. I realized that you can never become great unless you shun out negativity from your head. I realized that a weak will is all it takes to be mediocre for the rest of your life. I figured that discipline and persistence are absolutely necessary to winning the games of life. (I know that you all know this in theory, I knew it in theory too. What I am saying is, I realized it now in Practicals!) I now know that our biggest impediment to success is us. (Or our thoughts to be precise)
In essence, most of us are merrily surviving in this world. We are so occupied with our day to day lives, that we have lost sight of “What is Possible”. When we were kids, we all had big dreams. We wanted to be movie stars, pilots, cricketers… Where did we end up? Something happened and we distinguished that a dream is something that is impractical. I don’t know about you but I believe that EVERYTHING is practical. All we need to do is FOCUS enough attention and energy into it. Which means – Take persistent ACTION until you’ve got it.
I invested a month just to build some good habits and breaking some bad ones. And that decision is paying.
The life of my dreams, inspires me to do whatever it takes to make it happen. I have quit my job, not taken another one, and am burning each of my backups 1 by 1. I am leaving nothing to fall back on. I can only win or perish. (And I know I can’t perish! So you can guess where I’m headed!!!
)
This blog is almost entirely like a journal. I don’t write it with the expectation of others to find value in what I write. I just write it because I wanna write something that I would like to remember later on in my life. But I would love, if it inspires a random guy/gal like me to do some soul searching and answer the question – “Am I living a life I love?”
Love,
Amit Singh

Hey Amit,
I came across this wonderful blog of yours as I was googling for some help regarding the use of SBI ATM cards. If you remember, you have a post wherein you have mentioned the SBI to HSBC balance transfer….neways, that is irrelevant here.I would like you to know that your writings did really inspire me.I had been feeling a bit low having scored poor grades in my first year at college and had asked myself the question you want us to ask – ” Am I living the life I love ? ” Well … reading the ‘About’ section of your blog showed me that there is indeed someone else who is willing to question the way we live ! That gives me hope and yes…the will to do better. Thanks a lot, mate ! Keep writing

Hi Amit, What a nice write-up. Wonderfully put thoughts. Ur motivation and energy level is totally translating to the reader as they read ur words. I admire u. U quite ur job to follow ur dreams and live the life that called out to you..you listened to the voice and u were brave. I like that very much. I am like that too, I follow my heart and I want to be good and find my true callings, but I am still trudging uphill right now, and gradually, hopefully, it will get better and better as I become more action-oriented too.
Howz ur co. going and what’s it about? Do u live in B’lore?
Take care. And best wishes for ur eevryday. U have great thoughts. I really like that.
