Some More Habits!

In one of my previous posts, I had declared taking on some new habits. I did not fulfill on that. I will take it on from today.

Here are a few habits that I am gonna follow from today onwards.

  1. Waking up at 6.
  2. Doing everything that I say, when I said I will do it.
  3. Eating 3 proper meals a day.
  4. Planning my day every night. Referring to the plan, every morning.
  5. Planning every week on Sunday evening/Monday Morning.
  6. Implementing the Performance Triangle in my life.
  7. Being absolutely unstoppable. Whatever I resist, I’ll confront and transform.

This is a new beginning!

This time I shall fulfill on each of the above 7 points.

Some Habits that I wanna build

Some other habits that I want to build are :-

  1. Explore the basics. Eg, I should know the basics of the Internet. If I want to understand or explain something, I should be able to break it down to the basics.
  2. Another is the habit of imagining things. I would like to be able to imagine the sketches that I am making. I would also like to be able to imagine abstract pictures of the concepts that I am studying. The way Feynman did.
  3. Another habit is the habit of persistence. Basically a habit of deciding to do something and sticking to it till the end. It also means seeing things to completion. The sheer joy of seeing things that I once imagined as complete. :) Along with this habit comes the responsibility of carefully setting a target. It should be something that I am absolutely inspired to follow.

4. Doing and learning from Simpleology. This will help me build the all important habit of hitting my target.


Some of the goals that I have are :-

1. Earning 60k in the month of April. (Seems unlikely) {Now that I am at the end of April, I have absolutely failed to come anywhere near to the 60k mark. 10k is possible if I slog till 30th.}

2. Earning 1lk in the month of July. Another unlikely possibility.

3. Having real fun! :) all the time. Basically, right now I have the opportunity to have fun working with the inmates of a jail with Mumma. Doing cool things like giving personality development courses at Chatarpur. Well, in my life to be, its these kind of things that will excite me the most. Just what is it right now that stops me from enjoying all this? Well I guess, its the habit of not doing my things on time. If I conduct myself in such a way that I have taken care of all the things that I need to do, in the morning itself and am free to do anything I please during daytime, this problem won’t be there. 1 life baby, live it!

Some other random thoughts that are coming to my mind are :-

· What to do about my website?

· Basically I gotta build this habit of planning my day every morning, after having a steady look at my goals. And then work my plan with integrity. Yeah, working my plan :) . This way I’ll be able to generate enough free time to take care of the random activities that keep happening.

So what can my daily routine be like???

  • Review the goals
  • Make a list of things that I wanna do today
  • Distribute them in different time slots and plan the day
  • Work the plan the rest of the day. :)

Yeah this one looks much better.

Not being able to sleep!

I guess I am forever enthusiastic! Most of my post titles end in an exclamation mark!!!

Wow, I am so charged up after resolving to make this new habit that I am not getting any sleep. All sorts of thoughts about things that I need to do are coming to my mind. Various possibilities!

So I just woke up and updated my “Remember the Milk” with all the things that I wanna do today. Hopefully doing this will give my super charged mind some rest and also some sleep. Among my new possibilities are :-

  • Being like a brother to Tanaya
  • Contacting Laura Parkin and supporting NEN, both in Bangalore and Bhopal
  • Being this absolutely inspirational dude in my next SELP
  • Achieving what I am set out to achieve at home :)

Anyways, gotta sleep and wake up in the next 2 hours, so I better hurry.

My abs are hurting with todays doze of exercise. I did 1 set each of 33 push-ups and 60 sit-ups and squats.

By the way, Deval’s mom has sent me a special home made hair oil to check my hair-loss. Deval says it worked like magic on his dad. Well I have applied it today. Doesn’t smell very good. But Deval says that I can feel the difference in a matter of days. Wow, that sounds amazing.

I took 10 mins to write this post instead of 5. I really gotta build this habit of writing bullet posts. Lesson learned – ‘While trying to find a link, don’t spend anytime reading the unnecessary pages that open up’

All set to go home!

Another habit I want to build is – ‘writing bullet blog posts’. I have realized that I spend a lot of time writing my blog. From now on, I am gonna build this habit of writing bullet posts. 5 minutes per post!  Today is the starting of the same.

So I am going home! I was not being able to get a reservation ticket to go home. But it pays to have resourceful friends. Nikhil has some very good contacts and one of his friends has got me a ticket in a VIP quota or something. Thanks Nikhil. (I know he’s never gonna view this post, but what’s the harm in thanking him?)

Besides, it has been 3 days that I have not followed my new daily routine. This pattern has gotta break from tomorrow onwards. I am gonna wake up at 5 and do things as planned.

I also tweaked my website today. My friend Affan did his handwriting assessment and he gave the software 95% accuracy. Wow!!!

I’ll go and do my exercise and yoga now. No use to wait till tomorrow for a new start! :)

Ok, I have taken just under 5 mins :)

Megaliving – Day 18 and 19 + My Habits.

Yesterday I did not follow much of Megaliving. The exercises for the body seemed like “its not for me” and the one for Character seemed to much of theory to implement.

Today however is great. And I have practiced the Mind exercise. I’ll do the body ones soon. And the character building one too. Ok, I just completed my exercises. Todays Megaliving To-do also states that I write in my journal, 5 benefits I have seen with exercise. So here they come :-

  • More energy
  • Some muscles :)
  • My pimples have gone. I am not sure if its because of my diet or exercise or both. But yes they have dissappeared!!!
  •  I feel hungry these days and eat much better.
  • A combination of Yoga and exercise has definitely started showing its effect on the weaker portions of my body. I feel that my neck and the joints in my right leg are getting stronger.

I did not follow Simpleology yesterday as well. Ill do it today though.

I am also gonna start my handwriting analysis blog tomorrow. I have been procrastinating a lot about it off late.

I am reaching the magical Day 21. So I should have formed a few habits by now. :D :D

But when I come to look at it, I wonder if there is even

1 habit that I have practiced consistently for the past 20 days!

Ok “Practicing Yoga on weekdays” is 1. Daily walking is another. Deep breathing is another. (Not bad)

And thats it.

I have been exercising regularly but break it once in while. But I have started feeling results. I better start devoting more time to Megaliving now. Its the best investment of time.

5 habits I really want to have are:-

  1. Not keeping a single negative thought in the mind. To challenge and replace ever negative thought.
  2. Waking up early morning every single day. (Today again I slept at 5 AM and woke up at 12 noon) :(
  3. Just go ahead and do it without an in authentic fear of failing.
  4. Eating food 3 times a day.
  5. Reading significantly everyday.

I better get down to today’s Simpleology practice, then exercise, then today’s Yoga, then meditation and then start completing the draft of my 5 year plan. Ok, back in action now.

My Worst Day So Far. Feel like quiting Megaliving

Ever since I have taken on working on myself, there have been a lot of bad days. Today has been the worst among them.

Why? Because, YET ANOTHER TIME, I panicked at a critical juncture. I had declared that I will build my website, Earlier I had also promised my buddy ‘Kiran’ that I will make a draft of my 5 year plan and share it with him by 8 PM tonight. And I really wanted to attend this conference thats happening today.

3 important things at stake and what did I end up doing? I said, “ITS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE” and went off to bed. Of course I didn’t get sleep. And it was well past noon that I actually got out of my bed.

Boss, this is where I need to grow up. Later on when I’ll be having my own company and I would be leading people, I am sure my super star colleagues won’t be inspired to work under a boss like the current me. To have a star studded team, I gotta be a star. And to be a star I gotta work on myself. We all carve our own sculptures.

Self Made Man

The choice of making a “Michelangelo” or “Some Random Plaster Of Paris Shit” is ours. And I chose the former.

Ok, enough of philosophy. This blog is about action remember. To me building a habit of keeping my promises is more important then meeting my friends in the conference or learning about entrepreneurship. I have got the following things to do:-

  1. Practice Megaliving Daily exercises. [3+ hours]
  2. Practice Simple.ology daily [15 mins]
  3. Build up my website. [8+ hours]
  4. Put it on production, test and host it [3+ hours]
  5. Practice Simple.ology blogging [15 mins]
  6. Write down my 5 year plan and share it with Kiran [3+ hours]

Looks like I do not have sufficient time to do em all. But I am taking them all on. Anyone other than me might wonder, “Why do I always make my life so difficult?” (Mamta says this often). The simple answer is: “Because I am like this”. I have always encountered situations where I had to choose between ‘bringing my goals down and winning‘ and ‘keeping my goals the same and growing up to it‘. I have always chosen the latter. Thats who I am. Thats what I stand for.

Here is an opportunity for me to really grow up to a big challenge. To work like a genius and make things happen.

Well we’ll all come to know the outcome by 11.30 tonight.

This journal really helps me be on track, I am indebted to it and this blogging habit :D

Building habits is probably the toughest, and the most rewarding of practices.

Habits!

Well well, who we are is a product of our habits.

And I too have a few sexy ones!

  • Believing in my dreams :)
  • Sticking to my principles :)
  • Setting high goals :)
  • Not honoring my word :(
  • Choosing to Procrastinate whenever I get an option to do so :(
  • Indulging in negative thoughts :(
  • Waking up late every morning/afternoon :(
  • Respecting everyone :)
  • Planning my work :)
  • Not working my plan :(
  • Momentarily quiting :(
  • Consistent endeavor to be a better me :)
  • Not expecting from others :)
  • Not cleaning my room :(
  • Not eating my food regularly :(

There are a lot of sexier ones that are not coming to my mind right now.

However this post is about habits and not my habits. But since I don’t have much to talk about them until I have formed a few new ones and dropped a few oldies, I will carry on with my own thing.

At times I wonder why am I even writing this blog of mine? It fails to impress me in every way. Well I guess I am writing this so that a few years down the line I can visit these pages and see the phases of my evolution.

So this blog is entirely for me and I am not gonna share this with anyone. Any random user who comes across this page can muse with my musings.

Coming back to habits.

Since I have taken on being the best I can be, here are the following things I declare I shall do :-

1. Update my blog daily

2. Wake up early morning daily

3. Exercise/do Yoga daily

4. Read 5 books every month (3 complete for January)

5. Eat food all three times daily

6. Clean my room daily

7. Practice honoring my word daily (how do I measure this?) Ok, I’ll keep this one for next month. Aha Procrastinator… Ok, I practice honoring my word by making note of all the commitments I have made in my day. Looking at them in the morning and check marking them in the night. Daily

8. Putting in 8 hours of good work daily. (Weekdays only)

9. Honestly updating the results of the above 8 daily in my blog.

Man this thing is as good as a journal. Chances are that I’ll mature with time and use this blog as a medium to spread love and inspiration later on.
